MFL Season ExtendedDate: 04 April 2018 at 19:17 by Liam Cook
After months of dreadful weather and countless fixture postponements, the Total Motion Midland Football League has extended the league season.
The MFL met this week to discuss a possible solution to the ever extending backlog of league fixtures. United were already scheduled to play three times per week for the remainder of the season, which was scheduled to end by Monday 30th April. After the postponements over the Easter weekend, this schedule would have increased, and made life exceptionally difficult. And we are far from the only club in this situation, with numerous teams within the MFL suffering from the same problems.
Clubs were informed today that following the meeting, the MFL has decided to extend the season for Premier Division and Division 1 clubs until Monday 7th May 2018, with all fixtures to be arranged by 5th May. We would like to thank the Midland Football League for taking this decision, which will help ensure all fixtures are honoured. In addition we would like to extend our thanks to our club secretary, Graham Wood, and all those within the club for their tireless work to ensure all fixtures are played. And of course, we thank the Butts Park Arena for their efforts to keep the pitch in working order.
Keep your eyes peeled to Coventry United social media and the fixtures section of the website for the latest updates on fixture rearrangement.
