As part of Coventry United’s ten-year-plan, we have made two key backroom appointments. We would like to welcome Andrew Peat and Paul McCormick who join as Commercial and Marketing Directors.
Andrew and Paul will work together to strengthen relationships with supporters and local businesses – forming long term partnerships to support the on-field activities of the club. They will also work to lift attendances at Butts Park Arena and make United an inclusive club that appeals to all sections of the community.
Atherstone-based Paul writes: “'I am a C.E.O of a Marketing company having spent the last ten years working with and for some of the biggest FTSE 100 companies in the world. I have assisted in generating over £200 million globally and developed and executed strategies that are still in use in 4 out of 5 organisations I've been in/worked with. Football is very much in my blood and I'm very excited at this opportunity."
Similarly, Andrew has over 20 years Commercial and Marketing experience holding senior positions across brands such as Dixons Carphone Group and Deutsche Telekom. Away from Coventry United Andrew currently runs the commercial functions at Ctrlio, a new technology business recently named one of the ‘Forbes top 5 global startups 2018’. He brings extensive experience of negotiating partnerships across a wide range of businesses and commercial models. Away from work Andrew lives in Shropshire with his wife and 2 children.
United Chairman Peter Reynolds, commenting on the appointments writes; ‘This is a statement of our intent, and recognition that a mature commercial model is the key to footballing success. We are delighted to announce the appointments of Paul and Andrew, and indeed, we may still strengthen the commercial and marketing team further in the near future.
There is some wonderful football being played at Butts Park Arena by both the men’s and women’s teams and we want people to see it. Not only is it important to have a sound financial basis upon which to build the club, but we also need to connect with the Coventry public who may not be aware of the footballing revolution happening in their own back yard.’
